I am a Leeds-based photographer originally from Manchester. My primary focus is Nature, Architecture and Street photography although I do also like to practice areas such as animal portraiture, product and Macro photography.
I first found my liking for photography when I was a teenager away on a family holiday. We were with a family friend who was a photographer and taught me the basics. I fell in love with it and even though I only had a phone camera to shoot with, I carried on with this in my spare time. It wasn't until a few years later that I would get my first proper camera.
For me, photography has multiple meanings and most importantly for me it is an escape. It allows me to take time out from busy day to day life. Nature photography allows me to just get out and about with my camera and see the world from a different perspective. I find it relaxing, it takes my mind off things and lets me enjoy the world a bit more. It also allows me to show people the world from my perspective. When I look at a subject and see it in a particular way, I reflect this in my editing and the end result is my view on that particular subject.
I am a firm believer that nature photography in particular is great for your mental health and it is the key thing that gave me motivation to get out of the house when I was going through my own difficulties. It has since become a very important aspect of my life.
